If you are committing your life to Jesus Christ, please let us know! We want to send you ministry resources to help you grow in your faith and encourage you to become a better you.
Here are a some important things you can do to build a strong foundation for your spiritual life with God:
You have been changed on the inside.
The Holy Spirit now lives inside of you. You didn't change on the outside; the change is in your spirit. You may not 'feel' different, but as a Christian, you should not base your life on what you feel. You should base your life on what you believe. And we believe God's Word which says, "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
God has a plan for your life.
God has a wonderful plan for you! He wants you to reach your full potential. Jeremiah 29:11 says your life is full of purpose and God has a divine destiny for you!
Make new friends.
Your friends have a powerful impact on you. Don't let your friends and your old way of life pull you down. Invite your friends to church. If they don't come to church with you, God will bring new friends into your life that will encourage you in the things of God.
Be baptized.
Once you are born again, the first commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ is to be baptized in water (Matthew 28:19–20). This is a public display of your decision to follow Him. Water baptism represents the death, burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Make plans to be baptized soon!
Pray.
Prayer is our way to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 encourages us to "be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." Begin each day communicating with the Lord. Begin with praise. Thank Him for all He has done in your life. Confess your mistakes. The Bible tells us that "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive…" (1 John 1:9). Then intercede for those things that concern you the most. Pray for the needs of others – your family, co–workers and friends. Talk to the Lord every day – He is interested in the things that concern you.
Read the Bible.
The Bible is God's love letter to you. It is one way that God communicates His plans and purposes for your life. The Bible is full of God's promises for you. Begin by reading just one or two chapters from the book of John, plus one Psalm and a Proverb from the Old Testament each day. As you read His Word, God will reveal things to you that can be applied to your daily living.
