Increasing Faith
By Victoria Osteen - Aug 23, 2016

The Bible says that God has given every person a measure of faith. That faith is like a seed, and if you tend to it, faith will grow. Sometimes we see people who have great faith and think, "Wow! They are amazing. They are a spiritual giant!" But really, we all start out with the same measure of faith. We all have the potential to grow that faith to a great level. And it really isn't that difficult. It just takes a little time and diligence.

Think about an athlete who is training for a competition. In addition to the time spent in the gym conditioning their body and practicing their sport, they also have a very strict diet. An Olympic athlete isn't going to be their best if they eat junk food or sugar all the time. In the same way, what we feed ourselves spiritually affects our ability to be our strongest. Romans 10:17 tells us that "faith comes by hearing the Word of God." Every time you read a scripture, every time you listen to a Bible-based teaching and receive truth from the Word of God, faith is coming to you, increasing in you, and strengthening your spirit man.

When you deposit the truth of the Word of God into your heart, it breaks every bondage and sets you free to be who God created you to be.

Today, make the Word of God a priority. Increase your faith by spending time hearing and receiving His Word. When you keep His Word close to you, it will protect your heart and direct your steps. His Word is alive and powerful! As you spend time with the Father through His Word, He will reveal Himself to you and increase your faith!

Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. (Psalm 119:165, NIV)
