Power in Communion
By Victoria Osteen - Apr 08, 2016

Did you know there is supernatural power when you take communion?

In my own life, I have made it through many challenges by submitting myself to the Father during a time of communion, right in the privacy of my own home.

Communion brings connection. It focuses our hearts and minds on God and brings us into complete unity with Him. When we take communion, we are recognizing the power of what Jesus did when He died on the cross. We are acknowledging His supernatural work and honoring who He is in our lives. We are saying, "I believe" with our actions.

You don't have to wait until church on Sunday to take communion. You don't need a special minister to serve it to you. Scripture says that Jesus Himself is your high priest. (Heb 4:14) You can take communion anytime, anywhere. You can simply use crackers and grape juice, bread and water, or whatever you have that can symbolize the body and blood of Jesus. It's not the elements that hold the power; it's your faith in Him and your surrender to Him. It's your obedience to His Word that says, "Do this in remembrance of Me."

I encourage you to find time on a regular basis to honor the Lord through communion. Open you heart to Him and discover the blessing of fellowshipping with our heavenly Father in such a personal way.

And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body given for you; do this in remembrance of Me." (Luke 22:19, NIV)
