You Always Have Something
By Victoria Osteen - Oct 30, 2016

In Acts 3, it talks about a time when Peter and John were going to the temple to worship God. They came across a crippled man who was sitting near the temple gate begging for money, but neither of them had any money.

Have you ever found yourself in that situation where you were caught off guard like that and someone asked you for something that you didn't have?

I have. One day, I was in my car at a stoplight and there was a man walking up and down next to the cars with a cup in his hand. I started looking in my purse for cash, in the console, in the glovebox but I couldn't find any. I felt badly about it so before he got to my car, I picked up my phone and acted like I was talking and didn't see him.

It's easy to overlook a need when you don't think you have anything to give! But Peter shows us what we can do if we find ourselves in this type of situation. You see, instead of turning away from the man and getting embarrassed that he didn't have any money, Peter thought of what he did have. The truth is, we all have something to give as long as we have the power of God on the inside of us! Instead of shaking his head and just walking by the cripple man, Peter said, "Silver and Gold I don't have, but what I do have I will give to you. In the Name of Jesus rise and walk!" That day a great miracle happened for all to see. The man jumped up and started praising God.

That day as I drove away from the stoplight, I thought the same thing. I may not have any cash on me, but I always have the power of prayer. I started praying for that man and believing that God would touch his life in a powerful way. Always remember, no matter what anyone asks for, when you have Jesus, you always have something to give!

"Then Peter said, 'Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.'" (Acts 3:6, NIV).
