Your Time Is Coming
By Joel Osteen - Jan 24, 2020
We all have things we’re believing for. We’ve been patiently waiting, doing the right thing, praying, thanking God, but we don’t see anything changing. It looks like it’s going to take a long time to get well, to break the addiction, to meet the right person. No, you need to get ready. God says, “I am the Lord; when the time comes, I will do it quickly” (Isaiah 60:22). God has ordained certain destiny moments in your life when He’s going to do a quick work. It’s going to be so out of the ordinary that you know it’s His hand. What should take years is going to happen in a fraction of the time. Every thought may tell you, “It’s never going to change,” but God is saying, “This is a time I have ordained for you. It’s going to happen suddenly.” Now get in agreement with God. Instead of thinking of all the reasons it’s not going to work out, start thanking Him that breakthroughs are coming.

A friend of mine worked for a company where his supervisor was jealous of him and didn’t treat him right. My friend had a great attitude, never complained, and just kept doing the right thing even though his supervisor would try to discredit him and leave him out of meetings. This went on for years. The supervisor was in his early forties and had been with the company nearly twenty years. It looked like the situation would never change. But one Monday morning the owner of the company called my friend into his office and said, “Your supervisor left on Friday and isn’t coming back. You’re the supervisor starting right now.” That’s God speeding things up.

After God delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, they were headed toward the Promised Land. But as the Israelites headed into a dead end at the Red Sea, they saw Pharaoh’s army coming after them at full force. They had nowhere to go. It looked as though they would certainly be recaptured or killed. But then Moses held up his rod and the Red Sea parted and the Israelites went through on dry ground. When Pharaoh’s men came chasing them, the waters closed back up and they were all drowned. Psalm 114:3 gives us insight into what happened: “The Red Sea saw the Israelites coming and hurried out of their way!”

When you step into your destiny moment, enemies are going to hurry out of your way. That addiction, that depression, the lack, the anxiety—it’s about to hurry out of your way. Suddenly the waters part, suddenly your health turns around, suddenly the door opens. God knows how to take things that look permanent and quickly change them.
