Who Says You’re Not a Giant Killer?
By Joel Osteen - Dec 18, 2020
When you look back over your life, you probably wonder why certain things came against you, some that were unfair, times when for no fault of your own you were left out or mischaracterized and made to look bad. Other times you tried to step up to a new level, you tried to set a new standard, but opposition came out of the woodwork, things you had never faced. Those came because there are forces that don't want you to take new ground. When you have a big future, the enemy is not going to roll out the red carpet and let you fulfill it. The apostle Paul said, "A wide door of opportunity is open for me, and there are many adversaries" (1 Corinthians 16:9). The adversity is not because God has forgotten about you, not because you got shortchanged; it's because wide doors of favor are about to open for you.

David probably wondered why his father and brothers put him down and tried to hold him back, but that didn't stop him from taking the throne. It wasn't fair for Joseph to be sold into slavery, lied about, and put in prison, but that didn't stop him from becoming the prime minister of Egypt. It wasn't fair that Moses was born under a death threat and wasn't raised in his own family, but that didn't stop him from delivering the Israelites. Who says it has to be fair for you to fulfill your destiny? No bad break, no injustice, no disappointment, and no person has cancelled God's plan for your life. The reason it's not fair is because there's an assignment God has for you that the enemy is trying to stop. There is an anointing, an empowerment, a favor that he doesn't want you to see. The good news is that he doesn't have the final say.

You may feel as though you've been through too much and you're stuck where you are. How do you know you're not a David, or a Joseph, or a Moses? How do you know that adversity wasn't a sign that greatness is in you? If you didn't have something amazing in you, the enemy wouldn't have worked so hard to stop you. He knows you're a giant killer, a history maker who's going to affect generations to come. You're going to break the addiction, you're going to start the business, you're going to meet an amazing spouse. You have to step into your greatness. Quit believing the lies that you've had too many bad breaks, too much against you. It doesn't have to be fair for God to do something awesome...because He is fighting for you.
