How Do You See Yourself?
By Joel Osteen - Jan 20, 2023

Many people are not reaching their potential because their vision is limited. They're talented and have favor, but they don't see themselves accomplishing dreams, being blessed, living healthy. You will never rise any higher than the way you see yourself. Through your eyes of faith, you need to see yourself the way you want to be. You may be fighting an illness, but you need to see yourself healthy. If you're struggling in your finances, you need to see yourself out of debt, with abundance, being a blessing to others. If you're dealing with an addiction, don't let that "can't break it" image take root. Get a new image. See yourself free. See yourself whole. See yourself as an overcomer. Your inner vision is setting the limits for your life. The pictures you keep in front of you, in your imagination, that's what you're moving toward.

How do you see yourself? Your vision may be clouded by what people have said. "You're too small. You're too inexperienced. You're not talented enough. You don't have what it takes." You may struggle with low self-esteem. You feel you don't measure up. You have to change that picture. Get in agreement with how God sees you. He said you are fearfully and wonderfully made. He calls you a masterpiece, one of a kind. Why don't you get your image in line with God's image? If you change your pictures, you'll change your life. If you have the right inner vision and see yourself strong, talented, anointed, favored, with a bright future, you'll reach the fullness of your destiny.

What would happen if your vision cleared up and you started seeing yourself for who you really are, as a son or daughter of the Most High God? The apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesian believers: "That the eyes of your understanding would be enlightened so that you can see something of the future He has called you to share" (Ephesians 1:18). He was praying that their vision, the eyes of their understanding, would be clear. You have greatness in you. You were created to reign in life, to be healthy, strong, confident, valuable, to accomplish dreams, and to overcome obstacles. I'm asking you to get rid of negative images the disappointments, bad breaks, past mistakes that try to cloud your vision, and see yourself the way God sees you.

What image do you have of yourself, your family, your finances, your future? This is a new day. Clear out the inferiority, the bitterness, the mediocrity, what people have said. Nothing that's happened to you has stopped God's purpose for your life. As your vision clears, you'll start moving into the new levels of favor and blessing that belong to you.
