The Inflation Buster
By Joel Osteen - Mar 17, 2023

When we look at our circumstances, sometimes we don't see how we can get ahead, own and not just rent, or accomplish our dreams. With inflated gas and food prices and high interest rates, we may not see a way in the natural. But God is a supernatural God. When we come to the end of our resources, He says, "I'll make streams in the desert. I'll take five loaves and two fish and multiply them to feed thousands." In Matthew 17, when Peter didn't have money to pay the temple tax, Jesus told him to go to the lake and the first fish he caught would have a coin in its mouth that covered his and Jesus' tax. God has supernatural provision. He's not limited by what you don't have, by your education or career. You may be barely getting by today, but you're going to come out of not enough into more than enough. God is an overflow God. Don't live with a lack mentality, a limited mind-set. Have an abundant mentality.

You have to prosper in your mind before you'll prosper in your circumstances. You have to give God permission to bless you. Are you thinking you're stuck? Are you only looking at everything in the natural. You have to realize God is supernatural. He’s not having a down year. He's not wondering how to cope with inflation, the price of houses, or a down economy. No, God owns it all, and He is your source. Be grateful for your job and income, but know that God is not dependent on them. He has provision that is beyond your salary, your training, and your experience. He’s not looking at your qualifications or talent. He’s looking at your heart. He sees how faithful you are, how you always keep Him first place, how you have a desire to help others, to build the kingdom, and to accomplish a dream that seems over your head.

God wants to step in and show you supernatural increase, but you can cancel it out with a negative tongue. If you have a poor mouth, you’re going to have a poor life. "Death and life are in the power of your words" (Proverbs 18:21). You can speak lack or abundance. You can speak not enough or more than enough. Have a new perspective. Psalm 35:27 says, "Let them say continually, 'Let the Lord be magnified, who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His children.'" You're supposed to go around continually saying, "God takes pleasure in prospering me." Get in agreement with God and make that your declaration. You're going to see supernatural provision. Doors will suddenly open. Good breaks and opportunities will find you. You're going to be awestruck at the goodness of God.
