Look Again

We all have dreams we've given up on. Too often we think it's been too long, we've made too many mistakes, the problem will never turn around, and we accept it's always going to be this way. But just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it's not going to happen. Who told you that you're not going to love again, not going to be healthy again, or not going to get that house loan? That didn't come from God. It may feel like it's over, but God is saying, "Look again. I'm still going to bring that dream to pass." Now you have to get in agreement with God and start looking again.

In Mark 8, people brought a blind man to Jesus and asked Him to heal him. After Jesus initially put His hands on the man, He asked the man if he could see anything. The man responded, "Yes, but it's not clear. I see men walking as trees." Jesus put His hands on the man's eyes a second time, and the man's sight was completely restored. Why did Jesus do this twice? It wasn't that He didn't have enough power the first time. He healed people all the time. No, this was a test. Jesus wanted to see how the man would respond. The man could have said, "Yes, I can see. It's blurry, but I'm satisfied. At least I can see." If he would have accepted it, He would have missed God's best. He had to be willing to look again.

It took a lot of nerve to say, "Jesus, I can't see clearly. It's not what it should be." Jesus didn't get upset and say, "What's wrong with you? You need to have more faith. I pray for people all the time, and they get completely healed." Jesus didn't condemn him or make him feel less-than. He touched him and said in effect, "Look again." He was saying, "It's okay that you're not where you thought you would be. I'm not through with you. I have a second touch."

What about the dreams you've given up on? God already knew what wouldn't work out the first time. He knew the medical report wouldn't be good, the promotion wouldn't go through, or the relationship wouldn't work out. Like He did with this man, He's waiting to see what you're going to do. Don't settle for blurred vision. Don't give up on what God put in your heart. He has a second touch. Look again. The first touch got you to where you are. The second touch is going to push into abundance, into divine health, into great relationships, into the fullness of your destiny.

This Week's Inspiration

Joel Osteen Ministries provides the opportunity to find hope and inspiration wherever you are, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

God is For You (Just One Good Break)

You don't live life worried about how things will work our anymore because God has promised in Psalm 138:8 that He will work out His plan for your life. Instead, release your faith and trust Him. His plan is better than your plan!

Praise God By Helping Others (Express Gratitude Through Actions)

There is a principle in God's Word that says, "Give, and it will be given to you" (Luke 6:38). When we go out and make someone else's day, we're saying, "God, thank you for making my day" because when you make someone else's day, God will make your day. When God sees you blessing others, He blesses you, and there are no blessings to compare with the blessings of Almighty God.
