Prequalified for Double

I talked to a lady who owns her own business. She'd rented space in a shopping mall for years, always paid her bills and was a good tenant. One day she received a letter from the landlord stating that her rent had been doubled, for no reason. She couldn't make a profit paying that much. It was unfair. They were basically forcing her out. She didn't know what to do and was worried, losing sleep. Then she turned on the television and saw me. Normally she would just flip by, but something said to listen. I was talking about how trouble is transportation, how sometimes God will allow difficulties to move us forward, and how we can trust that God is in control. Deep down she knew everything was going to work out, and she came back to a place of peace.

A few days later, another landlord who had space two doors down contacted her. She didn't go looking for him; he came looking for her. He offered her twice the amount of space that she currently had for half the rent. She couldn't believe it. She gladly moved to the new location. God is a God of justice, and He knows how to pay you back for what's not fair. He has seen everything you've gone through, every person that did you wrong, every tear, every lonely night. He's your heavenly Father. You don't have to live worried, thinking that bad breaks and disappointments are the end, and it's never going to get better. That setback is really a setup for God to show out.

Hebrews 10:30 says, "For we know him who said, 'Justice belongs to me; I will repay them.'" When God pays you back, He doesn't bring you out the same. The prophet Isaiah said, "God will give you a twofold recompense" (Isaiah 61:7). That means God will pay you back double. It's not a coincidence that this lady received twice the space for half the rent. In the Scripture, it wasn't a coincidence that after all the heartache and pain that Job went through, he came out with twice the cattle, twice the sheep, double what he had before the testing of his faith. When you're in an unfair situation or somebody did you wrong, instead of getting sour, have a new perspective—that just qualified you for double. You may not like it, it may be uncomfortable, but stay in faith. They meant it to harm you, but God is going to use it to promote you. When He pays you back, you're going to come out loaded down with blessings.
