Faith to Finish
By - Dec 02, 2016
In the scripture, an angel appeared to a young, teenaged girl named Mary. He said, "Mary, you are highly favored of God. You're going to have a baby without knowing a man. He will be the Messiah, the Savior of the world." God showed her the end of the story. She was going to be the mother of Christ, have honor, and be respected and admired for generations to come. I'm sure Mary was excited. She couldn't believe it was happening. But years later, I can hear Mary saying, "God, You didn't tell me that having this baby would cause my fiancé to want to call off the engagement. You didn't tell me I would have this baby in a manger with smelly animals. You didn't tell me I would have to live on the run for two years, trying to hide my baby from King Herod. You didn't tell me my son would be mistreated, mocked and ridiculed. You didn't tell me I'd have to watch him be crucified." What am I saying? God doesn't always give us all of the details. What you're facing may be difficult, you don't understand it; it doesn't make sense. This is where your faith to finish has to kick in. Are you going to get discouraged and talk yourself out of it? Or, are you going to do like Mary and say, "God, You didn't tell me that these people would do me wrong, You didn't tell me I would be dealing with this illness, You didn't tell me business would be slow, but God, I know You're still on the throne. This is not a surprise to You. It's a part of the process. So I'm not going to live discouraged; I'm not going to give up on my dreams. I'm going to trust You until I see the end!"  "…The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20, NIV)
