In accounting, the phrase, “balanced books,” means to make up for a loss. If an account is low and there is a deficit, revenue is added to equal everything out. In the same way, God desires to balance the books on the broken pieces in our lives. We all go through things that put us at a deficit in life—a rough childhood, the loss of a loved one, a broken heart, an illness. But Hebrews 10:30 says, “God is a just God. He will repay the compensation owed to us. He will settle the cases of His people.” You may have been through things you don’t understand, but get ready because the Creator of the universe is adding up all the deficits. If you will allow Him to work in your life, He will bring you out increased, promoted, vindicated and better than you were before. You can trust God to balance your books!
