He Has a Close Eye on You
By Victoria Osteen - Feb 26, 2016

One time, I was at a Broadway show with some of my family. It was a popular show, and we didn't get tickets far enough in advance so we were only able to get seats way up in the balcony. Thankfully, someone brought binoculars and agreed to share with each of us. Before it was my turn, as I watched the show, I felt so far away. The dancing was beautiful even from afar, but I just knew I was missing so many details of the performance. I'm the type of person who wants to see every expression and take in every line on a performer's face!

The binoculars were coming down the row, and it was almost my turn. I had already planned to take a little extra time with them since Joel was the only one after me, and I knew he wouldn't mind. I was filled with anticipation when it came my turn, and suddenly, my whole experience changed. I felt like I was practically on the stage! Every detail was so clear. What was far away was brought right up close and became so personal and engaging. I felt like I was so close that I could touch the stage!

That moment reminds me of a scripture found in Ephesians 2:13 which says, "But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ."

So often we think God is watching us from way up "in the balcony." We tend to think there is so much going on in this world, how can He possibly be concerned about the details of our lives? With so many prayers, how can He possibly hear ours? But that's when we have to stop and realize that He isn't looking at us from afar. We have been brought close to Him by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Scripture says that not even a sparrow falls from a tree without God noticing. How much more does He notice you? God is never too busy for you. When you call on Him, He is right there waiting to respond to you. He wants to be a part of every detail of your life. He is enthralled with every expression and every line on your face. Today, know that God loves you, and He has a close eye on every detail of your life!
