For every problem you face in life, God's Word has a promise! In Second Peter, it says that He has given us His great and precious promises so we can live the life He's called us to. In fact, did you know there are over 7,000 promises? That's more promises than all the problems I could ever think of! But, it's up to us to attach those promises to our problems.
The other day, I was reading this email that had an attachment. So I opened up the attachment, and that file became bigger than the original message. It covered my whole computer screen! I thought to myself, how many times does the enemy send us messages to try to discourage us? That's when we have to attach God's promise to that message—we have to open up His Word and allow it to become bigger than that message. We have to let His Word become the biggest thing in our lives.
The question is: What are you attaching to your problem? Are you attaching God's Word, or are you attaching complaining, murmuring and doubt? Proverbs 4:22 says that God's Word is life and healing to those who find it. That means that God's Word will bring life into your situation. It brings hope and strength. It renews you and empowers you for victory!
Sometimes it's easy to allow our problems to overwhelm us and conquer us. When we focus on our problems, our lives feel shipwrecked and lost. But God's Word is the anchor that grounds us and settles us, keeping us steady. There is a discipline in all of this. The discipline is that we have to open the attachment and meditate on His Word. We have to be willing to put more energy into the promise than in the problem. You can always tell when you have more energy in the problem because you go around talking doubt and defeat. But when you focus on the promise, you celebrate victory! You feel better physically. You have more joy, peace and a swing in your step! Declare today, "I am not going to be controlled by this problem; I'm going to be controlled by God's promise!"
