Celebrate Freedom
By Victoria Osteen - Jul 03, 2015

This weekend in America, we celebrate Independence Day which marks the declaration of our freedom as a nation. We celebrate with friends and family and remember what our founding fathers did for us. We honor this significant time in history, and it's a joy to pass on the legacy of freedom to future generations.

What's interesting about the celebration of Independence Day is that July 4, 1776, was the day that the Declaration of Independence was signed. It was the day that the people declared their freedom and put it into writing. However, they had to battle for years before they were actually living in that freedom. They declared their freedom first, and then they stood their ground until they had the victory.

Maybe today you have some things that you want to get free from—addictions, strongholds, lack, fear. Let this be the day you declare your freedom! You may have to stand and press through for a little while. You may have a spiritual battle on your hands, but know that freedom is yours the day you declare it! Whom the Son sets free is free indeed! Declare and celebrate your freedom. Stand strong and see the hand of God move mightily on your behalf!

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." (Galatians 5:1, NIV)
