God has done so much for us! He is good and deserves our very best. The Bible tells us that we should give God our first fruits. In other words, we should always give God the very best that we have. It's easy to get wrapped up in other things—our job, family or special projects. There's nothing wrong with these things, but we have to make sure that God doesn't get our leftovers. He should have the best of our time, resources, thoughts or energy.
When you make God your number one priority and take time every day to seek Him, it pleases Him. Scripture says that when a man pleases God, He'll make even his enemies be at peace with him. When you put God first, He will give you direction. When you bring Him the very best of your finances, He'll open up the windows of heaven and pour out blessings you can't even contain!
As you evaluate your priorities in this early part of the year, I encourage you to resolve in your heart and mind that you are going to give God your very best. Seek Him first in everything you do. Don't give Him your leftovers. Remember, no matter what you need in your life today, be encouraged because when you give God your best, He'll take care of the rest! Step out in faith and watch what God will do for you in 2016!
