Pushing Through
By Victoria Osteen - Aug 16, 2016

There's a story in Mark about a woman who suffered with an illness for 12 long years. She had a sickness in her body that caused her to lose her lifeblood which left her frail and weak. She went to many doctors who tried everything they could, but she left with no improvement. In fact, she used everything she had to try to find a cure. One day, she heard that Jesus was coming to town. She left where she was, and the Bible describes her pushing through the crowd to get to Jesus. I can imagine her shuffling in her weak, frail body with a condition she'd suffered with for 12 long years, but she was saying, "If I could only touch Jesus, I'll be healed!" She got close enough just to touch the hem of His garment, and she pulled power right out of Him. She was instantly healed when she touched Jesus.

Today, heaven's power is available to us just like it was to that woman so long ago. There are many lessons that can be drawn from this story, but the one I want to look at today is this woman in her frail state saying, "If I can only touch the hem of His garment..." Now if you can get a picture in your mind of her pushing through the crowded streets saying this, you have to realize she was not only pushing through the people, she was pushing through the crowded thoughts in her mind. She was pushing through what the doctors said. She was pushing through the exhaustion of trying everything she knew for 12 long years. She was pushing through the people who didn't acknowledge her thinking, "Don't they understand I need Him more than they do? Can't they just move out of my way? Don't they see me and how desperate I am?"

She had to push her thoughts around that day. She had to make sure that the words that came out of her mouth were words of victory. She couldn't let the circumstances and the opinions of others, even the opinions of the professionals, deter her that day. She had to choose her thoughts and her words which dictated her path.

Today, no matter what you are facing, keep pushing through. Like this woman, be determined to take hold of everything He has for you. Don't let your thoughts push you around; instead, push your thoughts around. Stay focused on the truth that if you keep pressing into Jesus, you'll press into the life, health, joy, peace and victory He has in store for you!

"When she had heard of Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd, and touched His garment." (Mark 5:27, NKJV)
