Savor His Blessings
By Victoria Osteen - Jul 07, 2016

We've all seen children open their presents at Christmas time. As a young parent looking back, my kids had way too many presents at Christmas. Not only did they get stuff from us, they got gifts from family members, too. They would wake up Christmas morning and tear right into them. They'd start on one and then go right to the next and the next. That's just how kids are. But as they got older, we would buy fewer presents, and they would savor each one a little more carefully. Instead of just ripping off the paper and moving on, they would actually open the box or even use the item or see how it works. They would take time and enjoy the moment a little bit longer.

That's how you and I need to be with the blessings of God. We need to stop and savor every blessing instead of just rushing through the day and saying, "What's next, God?" We should wake up each morning and simply thank God for another day to serve Him. Thank Him for the sunshine, the clear sky, clean water. We need to be thankful for our friends, family, and even our pets. We need to slow down and enjoy the gifts that God has given all around us, each and every day. Take time to recognize all the good things God has done in your life, and take time to savor His blessings!

"Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits." (Psalm 103:2, NIV)
