Inspiration

Shine
By Victoria Osteen - Dec 22, 2015

In scripture, the wise men found Jesus because they were led by a brilliant star in the night sky. That star dazzled and danced brightly and it influenced their course. The star didn't seek them out. The star didn't try to convince them or argue with them or tell them where to go. That star simply stayed in the right place and shone brightly.

Today, God wants you and me to shine like stars in the universe. He wants us to be bright lights that lead others Him. You are a person of influence just by being who God created you to be. You don't have to argue with people or tell them what to do. You can capture the hearts of your family members and friends just by shining.

A star in the sky doesn't create it's own light but it reflects the light of the sun. In the same way, we can't create our own light but we shine when we reflect our Heavenly Father. When we are exposed to His Word, we are illuminated by the truth and we light the path around us.

Remember, the light you have isn't just for you. The light you have affects the people around you who may be stumbling in darkness. Expose yourself to God's light. Expose yourself to His presence and bask in His Word. The entrance of His Word brings light and when you receive light, you can shine light and help lead others to eternal, abundant life in Jesus Christ!

"You are the light of the world" (Matthew 5:14, NIV).
