Walk Into the Will of God
By Victoria Osteen - Oct 27, 2015

Everywhere I go, people ask me to pray that they will do God's will. As believers, we all have an inborn desire to please Him. We all want to walk in his ways. But today, I want to encourage you: Don't wait for your assignment to find you, go out and find your assignment! The bible says there are works that have already been prearranged for you to walk into. We're not supposed to wait for our assignment to drop in on us; we're supposed to go out and walk into what God has for us.

Understand that when you are born again, you are recreated in your spirit. You have the DNA of God on the inside of you. That means you are predisposed, or preprogrammed for good works. He's created the desire and ability in your spirit. I believe that if we will just realize what we were made for, then those things that we are made for will make us. Good works will work in us and cause us to be all that God wants us to be!

The Bible says in First Corinthians that you are to bear fruit in every good work and grow in the knowledge of God. When you do good works, you are bearing good fruit. Sometimes we think doing good works means being nice to people so we can get blessed. We think, "God, I've been doing the right things, I've been kind to people, now will you bless me?" The truth of the matter is, that's not what good works are all about. Good works are not a vending machine for God's blessings; good works are to develop the character of God in us. Good works are meant to lead us into our calling. When you walk in good works, you walk in God's will.

What are good works? Believing God and not doubting. A mother serving her children—that is a good work. A worker not giving into compromise, that's a good work. Endurance and patience are good works. Long Suffering is a good work. You may feel like you're the only one going through what you are going through today; you might think, "If I could just get out of this, then I could do some good works." But the truth is, if you want to get out of it, do some good works anyway! Every time you choose joy, happiness, forgiveness, you are choosing good works. You are bearing fruit in a way that honors God and will lead you into your calling. God has already prepared those good works for you ahead of time. Walk into good works, and walk into the will of God!

"We are God's handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works which He prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10, NIV).
