Out With The Old In With The New
By Joel Osteen - Jan 01, 2018
Happy New Year and welcome to 2018! We pray you've had a refreshing holiday season and are ready to start the new year with focus, determination, and enthusiasm! If you're like most of us, you're probably making your list of resolutions and goals to accomplish. You may have even pulled out last year's list and are attempting to pick up where you left off.

But no matter what your goals are, we want to encourage you that sometimes, in order to move forward into the new chapter God has for your life, you have to be willing to let go of the old. The things that are behind you are not nearly as important as what is out in front of you in this new year, and it's time to make sure that you're ready for the new.

You may have had some unfair things happen over the past year. Maybe you had some circumstances that have thrown you off course, things that you don't understand, but you've come too far to stop now. Instead of allowing those things to hold you back, why don't you let go and take a step of faith into the new? It's time to get a new, bigger vision; it's time to get a new, fresher outlook; it's time to rise up with a new attitude! Instead of settling where you are, pick up and move forward. Make the resolution that says, "I may not understand it; it may not have been fair, but I am not getting stuck on this page. I know God has a new chapter for me in 2018—a chapter filled with blessings, favor, and victory!"

It's a new year, and God is saying, "For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?" (Isaiah 43:19). His plan is to increase you, open new doors before you, and take you places that you've never imagined. He has something big in your future, and He has something big in store for this year! He's already planned out big breaks, big opportunities, and big ideas for you. He is doing a new thing!

2018 is your year to rise up higher in your relationships, health, finances, and most of all, in your walk with God. As you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you. Receive it by faith and declare, "Yes, God, this is for me today. I'm not going to get stuck in the old. I know You're a big God, and You have something new coming my way in 2018!"
