Your Reward is Coming
By Joel Osteen - Mar 25, 2011
A friend of mine was a mechanic at a diesel repair shop where they worked on eighteen-wheelers. For years, he wasn't treated right. His coworkers made fun of him. They thought he was stiff because he wouldn't go party with them after work. Year after year, he had to put up with their ridicule, injustice and sarcasm. They treated him like he was second class and inferior to them. But even still, he remained the top-producing mechanic for seven years in a row. But he never once received a raise, promotion or bonus of any kind. His supervisor just didn't like him. My friend could have easily lived stressed out, angry, and with a chip on his shoulder. But instead, he recognized that he wasn't working for people, He was working for God. He just kept giving his best and kept his peace. He kept his attitude focused in the right direction.

One day out of the blue, the owner of this business called him. He had never met this man. The owner wasn't involved in the day-to-day operations. The owner told my friend that he wanted to retire and was looking for someone to sell the company to. He offered it to my friend and he replied, "I don't have the money to buy your business. I'm just an employee." The owner said, "You don't need the money. I'm going to loan it to you."

Long story short, my friend took the offer, and today he owns that company. It's very successful with nearly 80 employees! He said, "Joel, it's funny. They used to call me names, but now they call me boss."

Today, I want to encourage you. When you stay in peace and stay faithful with what God has called you to do, not only will He fight your battles, He will pay you back for the trouble the enemy brings into your life. No matter what is going on around you, know that God is faithful. Your reward is coming! He will perfect everything that concerns you and reward you beyond your wildest dreams!

The LORD rewards everyone for their righteousness and faithfulness (1 Samuel 26:23, NIV).
