I believe we can learn so much about our Creator God by studying His creation. A while back, I read about a baby locust called a hopper. Its wings are very small in proportion to its body. At first it can't fly, but it can jump 200 times its height. The way it learns to fly is when it hears the winds blowing and sees the treetops wrestling, something in the hopper's natural instincts tells it that "this is my time to jump." When it jumps, it spreads out its wings; and even though they're small, they catch the wind and the hopper begins to fly. But timing is critical; it has to know when to jump. It has to be sensitive and recognize when the winds are blowing.
Too often, we miss God's best because we don't recognize that it's our season. For the last few years, I know some people have been going through great struggles. They've been through difficulties and setbacks; they've made some mistakes, and now they can't hear the winds blowing. They just look at their circumstances and think, "I'll never get off the ground. I'll never accomplish my goals. I don't have the wingspan that I need. I don't have the talent. I don't have the dedication. I've made too many mistakes." What they don't realize is that if they will jump at the right time, when it's their season, they will catch those winds that will take them higher than they thought possible.
The Scripture puts it this way, "It's not by our might, nor by our power, but it's by the Spirit of the Living God." One translation says, "It's by the breath of Almighty God." When you know God is breathing in your direction and dare to take that leap of faith and say, "Yes, this is my time. Yes, I'm going to accomplish my dreams," that's when you will feel a wind beneath your wings, a supernatural lift, an anointing that will help you accomplish every dream and desire that He's placed in your heart. Start declaring by faith today, "It's my time. It's my season. I hear the wind blowing, and it's my time to jump!"
