A Very Present Help in Trouble
By Victoria Osteen - Sep 07, 2010
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1, NIV).

Have you ever gone through a difficult situation and wondered if God was really present? Maybe there's something in your life right now that isn't turning out the way you expected or hoped. You're not seeing any change. If that's you today, remember, it's always darkest just before the dawn appears. You may be in the middle of your midnight hour, but the sun is still shining; you just can't see it. The sun is still working; it's still burning brightly, even though it is dark outside. Soon the dawn will break forth, and the light will drive out the darkness.

Psalm 46:1 tells us that He is ever-present. He doesn't just show up, disappear and then come back later. No, "ever" means constant. He is constantly right there with you saying, "You're going to make it. You're strong. You're equipped. You have what it takes. Rest in Me."

One time, I heard somebody say it like this: The teacher is always quiet during the test. The teacher prepares the student before the test. The teacher is always available, always present. But when it comes time to take the test, the teacher is quiet because it's time for the student to shine.

No matter what "tests" you may be taking today, remember, God is faithful. He is with you and has equipped you to handle anything that comes your way. Let faith rise up out of your heart. Focus your thoughts on Him. Give Him praise today and thank Him because He is with you, and soon you will see the victory that He has promised!
