Trust in the Lord
By Victoria Osteen - Jul 14, 2010
I love the declaration in Psalm 20:7 that says, "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God!" Now, maybe you're not literally trusting in chariots and horses today, but in Bible times, chariots and horses were considered valuable resources. You were strong and powerful if you had lots of chariots and horses. Today, people still look to power, wealth and resources as their source of strength.

Are you trusting in natural resources today? Natural resources can be your job, a medical report, or anything in this world that you might depend on or draw strength from. Do you depend on the morning news to set the tone of your day? Remember, these things are all temporary. And yes, they do affect our daily lives, but we have to keep them in proper perspective. When you put your hope and trust in temporary things, your security and confidence is going to be temporary. Instead, put your trust in the name of the Lord! Declare, "No matter what is happening around me, God is bigger than my circumstances. He's more powerful than anything in the world. He is the source of my joy and strength; and I will put my trust in Him!" When you trust in the Lord, you'll be empowered by His strength. Your confidence level will soar because you have a foundation that cannot be moved and will never fade away. You have hope and trust that is secure for all eternity!
