Bringing Forth the Promise
By Victoria Osteen - Feb 04, 2010
Have you had a desire for something for so long that you're tempted to just give up? Is it a promise found in God's Word? I want to tell you today that God's delay is not His denial. The scripture says that it's patience, along with your faith, that brings forth the promise.

I think about Abraham and Sarah in the Bible. It took them years and years to bring forth the promise of the child that God had spoken to their hearts—and they made some mistakes along the way. But just because you make some mistakes, just because things haven't gone the way you planned, doesn't mean that it's God's denial. God will give you what you need in due season at the proper time. But, it's up to us to press through with patience because we need patience to bring forth the promise.

The Bible talks about patience being a virtue. It is a fruit, or manifestation, of the Holy Spirit's work in us. That tells me that patience is power! Patience is something God obviously thinks we need; and so today, why don't you ask Him to work patience in your heart. Don't let go of your dreams simply because you lack patience. The only thing that is between you and your dream is time; and patience is what you need to bring forth His promises!

We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised (Hebrews 6:12, NIV).
