Reaching Out to the People of Haiti
By Joel Osteen - Jan 14, 2010
One of the most devastating earthquakes of our time has hit the country of Haiti. As you probably know, Haiti is an impoverished country and the structures are not very sound. The devastation has been insurmountable.

In times like these, we have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus and reach out to the people of Haiti. We know God's plan is for their good. He wants to give them a hope and a future. We may not be able to go there in person but we can send our prayers and financial support.

We are working to help meet the needs of thousands in Haiti. For many years, this ministry has partnered with Samaritan's Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization that provides spiritual and physical aid to victims of war, poverty, disease, and natural disasters. They are an excellent organization, equipped with the knowledge and access to the necessary resources to be effective in reaching the people Haiti. In addition, we are working with Dr. Todd Price, a medical doctor, missionary, and partner of Lakewood Church to rush enough medical supplies to help about 10,000 people.

If you would like to join us in sending support and giving hope to help the earthquake victims, please click the link below. Remember, the Bible says that when we reach out to those in need, it's as if we are helping God Himself. When you turn your ear to the cries of the poor, God will turn His ear toward you and make sure your needs are abundantly supplied in return.

We love you and thank you for making a difference!

Prayer for the People Haiti: Father God, we come to You on behalf of the people of Haiti. We know that You are a God of Restoration. We ask for your provision and safety for the citizens and relief workers during this difficult time. Comfort the people, and may your peace and mercy cover the entire country. May people come to know You as their Lord and Savior, Healer, and Provider. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
