New Mercy
By Joel Osteen - Jan 05, 2010
Here we are in the first week of the New Year. I love new beginnings! At this time of year, I can't help but think of the new things God has in store for us.

The Bible says in Lamentations 3 that the Lord's mercies are new every morning. I love that because we don't have to wait for a new year to start over with God. We can start over with Him every single day.

We have to remember that as believers in Jesus, we are His ambassadors in the earth. We are His hands and feet. God works in the earth through us. That's why we have to release the old, release last year, release yesterday, and grab hold of His fresh new mercy. We don't need to walk around carrying guilt and condemnation. It's a new day, and He has new mercy for us!

Today, If you've been feeling guilty or condemned about something—maybe you've made some mistakes in your past or didn't live up to your own expectations—receive His mercy. Just take a few moments right now and pray a simple prayer like this: Father in heaven, I humbly come to You today. Thank You for making me new. I exchange my burdens for Your joy. Fill me with Your peace as I receive Your mercy. Help me to be an example of Your light in the world around me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
