What Are You Saying...When You Say Nothing At All?
By Victoria Osteen - Dec 29, 2009
Did you know that over 50% of communication is done with body language?

People can't read your mind, but they can surely read your face. When people see you, do they see that you're a joyful, happy person? Can they tell by your expression that you have a lot of good in your life?

As believers, we've got something to smile about! We're free from the curse of the law. We have hope. We are blessed and highly favored. We have a future, we have peace, and we have life eternal! We should be so full of joy that people come up and ask us what we are so happy about.

Not long ago, Joel said in one of his messages, "Somebody can steal your parking place, but don't give them your joy." We have to remember that no matter what someone tries to take from us, they can't steal our joy unless we give it to them. So hold on to your joy because your joy is your strength. Your joy is your armor. Your joy is what God's given you so you can push through the difficulties of life.

I love that people call Joel "The Smiling Preacher." He has joy in his heart that shows up on his face. I believe it's because of what he chooses to think about. When you think about the goodness of God, you can't help but get happy. I believe that if you're a teacher, you should be so happy that people call you "The Smiling Teacher." If you're a plumber, they should look at you and say, "There's That Smiling Plumber." Or the "Smiling Grocery Clerk," "The Smiling Secretary," "The Smiling Waiter," "The Smiling Mortgage Broker." Whatever you do, the Bible says to do it with all your heart as unto the Lord. I believe that means with a smile on your face!

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving (Colossians 3:23-24, NIV).
