His Yoke is Easy and His Burden is Light
By Joel Osteen - Dec 02, 2009
Not long ago, I received a letter from a lady that talked about how she felt beaten down by life for 42 years. She was part of a religion that told her God only loved her when she kept all the rules and followed all their manmade laws. She said, "I suffered under that religion. I could never be good enough." She ended up dropping out of church depressed and confused.

Twelve years later, while she was flipping through the television channels one day, she stopped on our program and heard me talking about God's unconditional love and that He still has a great plan for our lives. For the first time, she felt a freedom on the inside. It was as if God breathed new life into her spirit. No longer did she have to work to gain God's approval. She just simply received His love and acceptance. Now she is a new person. Now, she is reaching out to help others which is what the Bible calls "true religion."

I love what Jesus said in Matthew 11, "My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Have you been living under a heavy load of condemnation trying to be "good enough" for God? I want you to know that anything that makes you feel beaten down, condemned, or like a failure is not from God. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Today, just like this woman, receive God's truth that will set you free. He loves you just the way you are, and He loves you enough to help you grow into the person He's called you to be. Let go of the heavy burdens today so that you can move forward in the peace, freedom, and victory He has in store for you!
