Pull Back the Curtain of Fear
By Victoria Osteen - Oct 20, 2009
Do you want to be closer to God today? Do you want to know Him better? There's a scripture I love that says, "God knows those who trust in Him!"

One definition of the word know is to recognize the nature of something. See, when we put our trust in God, He recognizes our nature. He knows exactly who we are, exactly where we are, and exactly what we need. He can identify with trust, hope, and faith.

I find this verse so interesting because the opposite of trust is doubt, fear, and unbelief. Those are qualities that are contrary to God's character. And do you know that fear isn't reality? It's only a thought in your mind. Did you ever see the classic movie, The Wizard of Oz? When Dorothy arrived at the Emerald City, the great Wizard of Oz appeared to be all-powerful and mysterious, and he made everyone tremble. He seemed larger than life. But when Dorothy and her friends pulled back the curtain, the "wizard" was just an ordinary man, blowing smoke, and pushing a lot of buttons.

One of the most important things you can do in your life is learn to pull back the curtain of fear so you can see it for what it really is–the enemy blowing a lot of smoke and pushing your buttons!

As you search your heart today, if there's a curtain of doubt or fear in any area of your life, make the decision to remove it and choose to trust God. Don't let anything come between you and your relationship with Him. Remember, He loves you with an everlasting love. He says He will bless those who are looking for Him and longing for His goodness. He is faithful, and you can trust Him with every detail of your life!
