Need Direction?
By Victoria Osteen - Jun 23, 2009
One of my favorite scriptures is found in Proverbs 3:5; you may already be familiar with it. It says to trust in the Lord with all of your heart; don't depend on your own understanding; but seek God in all that you do, and He will direct your path.

See, the key to receiving God’s direction for your life is to trust Him with all of your heart. It doesn’t say, "Trust Him when everything makes sense to your head.” In fact, most times what God says is the complete opposite of what makes sense in our natural minds. For example, if you are in financial need, it doesn’t make sense to your mind to give away what you do have. But God’s Word says to give and it shall be given back to you in abundance—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. When someone hurts you, your natural mind thinks, "How can I get them back? How can I make them feel what I’m feeling?” But God says, "Don’t return evil for evil, but overcome evil with good.” God says, "If you'll forgive. I'll forgive you."

In God’s kingdom, whatever you sow is what you will reap. I don't want to reap evil. I want to reap good. I want to reap blessings. I want God to direct my path, and I’m sure you do, too! That is why we have to follow God’s instructions even when it doesn’t make sense to our natural minds. Remember, God’s system is set up to prosper us. It’s set up to give us a future and a hope! When you follow God’s system, you are showing that you trust Him with all of your heart. And when you trust Him, He’ll direct you. He’ll lead you. He’ll guide you down the path of victory that He has in store for you!
