Inspiration

Americans Feeding Americans
By Joel Osteen - Apr 15, 2009

"Next week, Victoria and I, along with our ministry team, are so excited to be in New York City for our "Night of Hope" event in Yankee Stadium.

In addition to the event next week, we are also partnering with our friends at Feed The Children to provide food and personal care items to families and individuals in need throughout the city. Ten tractor trailers filled with supplies will be distributed on Thursday the 23rd and Friday 24th before the event. Thursday, we'll be at Kingsbridge Armory in the Bronx, and Friday we'll be at 175th street between St. Nicholas and Audubon beginning at 10:00 a.m. both days.

I just want to take a moment to thank our good friends Larry and Frances Jones and the team at Feed The Children for their tireless effort to help the needy. Feed The Children is a 30–year–old Christian international nonprofit relief organization that delivers food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to individuals, children, and families who lack these essentials due to famine, war, poverty or natural disasters. Last year, Feed The Children shipped 135 million pounds of food and other essentials to children and families in all 50 states and in 32 foreign countries, supplementing almost 800,000 meals a day worldwide!

We're so honored to be working with them and traveling from city to city meeting people's needs and delivering a message of hope and inspiration in such trying times. Jesus said that when we reach out to those in need, He sees it as if we are reaching out directly to Him. What an honor it is to serve the Lord by serving others. Thank you for partnering with us as together we reach the world with the message of hope in Jesus!

We love you and hope to see you next week at Yankee Stadium!
