Everything You Need
By Victoria Osteen - Jan 26, 2018
Numbers 13 tells the story of when Moses sent the twelve men to spy out the Promised Land. Too many of us are like the ten spies who came back and declared that the land was fabulous in every way…except for the giants there. We tend to do what they also did and compare ourselves to the giants that stand in front of our dreams and conclude that "we are like grasshoppers in our own sight."

Do you feel like a grasshopper today? Are you comparing the present obstacles to yourself? If so, it's time to stop!

Out of those twelve spies, Joshua and Caleb rose up and broke the negative, limited mind-set. They had been in the wilderness with Moses and learned from him, and they remembered what their God had said and the miracles He had done. They saw them with their own eyes! They knew that God was greater than the giants. They said, "Hey, let's go in at once and take the land because God is with us!"

That tells me that you and I have the power to break our own limited mind-sets. Instead of acting like grasshoppers, drawing a little border around our lives and huddling there because we're afraid, we can stir up the dream in our hearts and do as Joshua and Caleb did. We can say, "Let's go in at once! We can take the land because God is with us! Our dream is for the taking, and the time is now!"

The key to their success in overcoming giants, and the key to our success when we face an impossible situation, is the word that God spoke to Joshua: "Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go" (Joshua 1:7). He was saying, "Be single-minded when it comes to the things of God. Don't look at your obstacles. Only be determined to obey My Word and you will prosper." Seek Him daily for His wisdom, His knowledge, His understanding, and His strength! Everything you need in this life is found in the Word of God!
