Did you know that one way our faith is released is through our words. There is a connection between speaking God’s favor and receiving His favor. It’s not enough to just believe you have favor or expect favor; you have to take it one step further and declare favor. Every day you should declare, “I have the favor of God. I have favor on my business, my finances, my family, and my health.” When you speak something out, you’re giving it the right to come to pass. When you’re in a difficult situation, instead of complaining about it, you need to declare, “The favor of God is turning this around. His favor is bringing healing, freedom, vindication, and victory into my life.” It’s one thing to think it, but when you declare it, angels go to work, things begin to happen in the unseen realm. We’ve hoped, we’ve prayed, we’ve believed—that’s good—but it’s time to start speaking favor.
The prophet Zechariah said, “Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the spring rain” (Zechariah 10:1). Rain in the Scripture represents favor. So if it’s raining, why are we told to ask for rain? God was saying, “Just because My favor is available, you’re not going to experience it unless you call for it, unless you declare it.” You may not be able to see it, but right now it’s raining—raining healing, raining freedom, raining promotion, raining connections, raining creativity. God is showering down His favor like never before. Don’t let His favor pass you by like a passing rain shower. The way you get in the rain is by declaring favor. “Father, thank You that Your favor is opening doors that no man can shut. Thank You that favor is causing me to stand out, giving me good breaks, advantages, preferential treatment. Thank You that Your favor is keeping enemies from defeating me, turning negative situations around, breaking forces that are trying to stop me.” Every time you declare favor, you’re asking for the rain. That’s what allows God to show out in your life.
You may not see how you can accomplish your dreams, how you can get well, how you can get out of debt. It doesn’t look like it’s ever going to change. I have good news: it’s raining. If you’ll do your part and keep declaring favor, God is about to do something unusual, something you weren’t expecting, where suddenly you’re promoted, suddenly you get well, suddenly you meet the right person. Favor is going to help you take new ground and reach the fullness of your destiny.
