Are Your Hands Really Tied
By Victoria Osteen - Nov 26, 2019
Have you ever felt as though your hands were tied? Have you ever thought, “I can’t do anything about my situation. I don’t see how this can ever work out in my life”? Perhaps you have a big dream in your heart, but you don’t have the resources or the connections to make it happen. There’s one obstacle after another. Let me remind you today that your hands may be tied, but God’s hands are never tied. There is no limit to His power on this earth. Don’t limit your options in life by what you see in your situation.

Numbers 13 tells the story of when Moses sent the twelve men to spy out the Promised Land. Too many of us are like the ten spies who came back and declared that the land was fabulous in every way…except for the giants there. We tend to do what they also did and compare ourselves to the giants that stand in front of our dreams and conclude that “we are like grasshoppers in our own sight.” Out of those twelve spies, Joshua and Caleb rose up and broke the negative, limited mind-set. They had been in the wilderness with Moses and learned from him, and they remembered the miracles God had done. They saw them with their own eyes. They knew that God was greater than the giants. They said, “Hey, let’s go in at once and take the land because God is with us!”

That tells me that you and I have the power to break our own limited mind-sets. Instead of acting like grasshoppers because we’re afraid, we can stir up the dream in our hearts and do as Joshua and Caleb did. The key to their success in overcoming giants, and the key to our success when we face an impossible situation, is the word that God spoke to Joshua: “Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go” (Joshua 1:7). He was saying, “Be single-minded when it comes to obeying My Word and you will prosper. Don’t look at your obstacles.” Seek Him daily for His wisdom, His knowledge, His understanding, and His strength. Everything you need in this life is found in Him.

If we’re going to accomplish the things that God wants for us, we have to remember who He is. He’s the God who parts our Red Seas! He’s the God who brings water out of our rocks! He’s the God of the impossible! His hands are not tied. Don’t turn back. Take His hand and draw your strength from your limitless God!
