Its Already Set Up
By Joel Osteen - Dec 20, 2019
I know a man who was at a government office trying to process some paperwork for his business. The clerk behind the counter was very unhelpful and treated him like he was an annoyance. He took the man’s information but told him they were so backed up that it could be five years before the paperwork was processed. The man said politely, “Is there anything you can do to speed it up?” The clerk practically shouted back at him, “Sir, I told you it’s going to be five years!” The man left there very disappointed. Two weeks later, the clerk called him and said his documents were ready. The man couldn’t believe it. He went to the office, thanked the clerk, and said, “I thought it was going to be five years.” The clerk said, “It should have, but ever since I met you I can’t get you off my mind. I wake up thinking about you, I eat lunch thinking about you, and I go to bed thinking about you. I’m sick of seeing you. Take this paperwork and go.”

When God has ordained someone to help you, they don’t have to like you or be kind. Quit being frustrated when somebody is not for you. If they’re supposed to be for you, they’ll be good to you even if they don’t like you. If God wants them to play a part in what He’s already set up for you, they don’t have a choice. The Scripture says, “For the Lord of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it?” (Isaiah 14:27). That’s saying, “Who can stop what God has already set up?” Quit worrying about who doesn’t like you, how big your obstacles are, or why you can’t accomplish your dreams. It’s already set up; you’re right on schedule. No person or bad break can stop what God has ordained. If you’ll keep honoring God, being your best, what God has set up will find you. You won’t have to go after it; it will come after you.

What God has in store is bigger, more rewarding, and more fulfilling than you can imagine. Instead of going around frustrated because of what’s not happening, turn it around and say, “Father, thank You for the blessings You’ve already set up. Thank You for the favor, the promotion, the healing, and the good breaks You’ve already ordained to come across my path.” When you live in faith, expecting God’s goodness, there are moments of favor that you’ll come into suddenly. You won’t see it coming, but suddenly a good break, suddenly you meet the right person, suddenly the paperwork goes through. It’s one of those blessings that God has already set up.
