The Scales Will Tip in Your Favor
If you add up the negative things in your past, at times the negative is much heavier than the positive. It's easy to look back at an illness, a loss, or a setback and get discouraged, lose your passion. The problem is, you're only looking at your history of negative things. What you can't see is what God has in your future. He wouldn't have allowed the difficulty if it was going to leave you in a deficit. There are things in your future that God has ordained for you--promotion, healing, divine connections. They're going to far outweigh the disappointment, the pain, the loss. This is where faith has to kick in and say, "I'm at a deficit right now, but God is still on the throne. What He has in my future is going to far surpass what I'm dealing with now."
The Scripture says, "For the joy set before him Jesus endured the cross" (Hebrews 12:2). When He was being mocked, beaten with whips, nailed on the cross, Jesus was at a deficit. It looked as though the enemy got the best of him. All the circumstances said He was done. When Jesus died on the cross, the forces of darkness celebrated, thinking they had finally won, but God has the final say. On the third day, God said, "My Son is not going to end in a deficit." Jesus arose and is seated at the right hand of the Father with all power. The point is that Jesus had to go through these things to fulfill His purpose.
We would prefer to just float through life with all good breaks, but that's not how it works. You can't become all you were created to be without opposition, people who do you wrong, times when it looks like you're done. The way to endure is to keep reminding yourself that what God has in your future is not just going to make up for what you've been through, but He's going to bring you out more fulfilled, more rewarded than you've ever been.
The Scripture puts it this way: "God takes us from glory to glory. The path of the righteous gets brighter and brighter." He already has a solution to the problem that's holding you back. He's already arranged restoration for that loss, a new beginning for that setback, promotion for that injustice. It's just a matter of time before you see the scales tip in your favor. Get ready. Even now things are shifting, and the weight of the negative is going to pale in comparison to the glory. God is going to bring you out better, increased, promoted, healthier, to new levels of your destiny.
