Wherever You Are, the Blessing Is There
By Joel Osteen - May 10, 2024

When you gave your life to Christ, He put something on you that causes you to stand out, to overcome obstacles, to accomplish dreams. It’s a divine enablement, a can-do power, a favor that propels you into your destiny. It’s simply called “the blessing.” With this blessing, you’ll go up when others are going down, you’ll recover from an illness when the medical report says you won’t, you’ll accomplish goals that are over your head. Your talent, skill, and determination take you so far, but to reach the fullness of your destiny, God puts the blessing on you.

Deuteronomy 28:1–14 describes the blessing. “When you honor God, you are blessed in the city and blessed in the country. You are blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.” That means in the good times and in the tough times. It says, “The fruit of your womb is blessed.” That’s your family. “Your crops and your livestock are blessed.” That’s your business. “There’s a blessing on everything you put your hand to.” This is saying the blessing is not dependent on your circumstances, whether they’re good or bad. It’s not dependent on where you are. Whether you’re in abundance or a famine, you are blessed. Whether you’re around loved ones or people who aren’t for you, you are  blessed. You don’t have to go somewhere else to have the blessing; the blessing is on you. Wherever you are, the blessing is there.

The blessing is an anointing on your life, which means God has marked you, set you apart. You are marked for favor—that’s where people are good to you and don’t even know why, where doors open that weren’t supposed to open, where you get promoted when you weren’t the next in line. You are marked for opportunity to come looking for you. You’re marked to excel in whatever environment you’re in—whether people are for you or against you, whether the economy is up or down, whether you’re getting good breaks or doors have closed. The blessing is why the enemy cannot defeat you through troubles. The blessing is the reason you keep rising up when circumstances try to keep you down. The blessing doesn’t stop the adversity, but it causes you to triumph in the trouble, to keep praising when nothing seems like it’s working out. With His blessing, deep down you know that God being for you is more than what’s trying to stop you.

Now do your part and have this blessed mindset. Get in agreement with God. All through the day, keep telling yourself, “I am blessed. I’m blessed no matter what I face. Something good is going to happen to me. I’m expecting God's favor.” You will draw in what you are thinking about.
