Today's Scripture
Psalm 23:4, ESV
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Today's Word
Over the course of David's life, he walked through all kinds of dark valleys and adversities. When you know God is with you as David did, when you've invited Him into your situation, you'll have peace and a song of praise in the cave as well as the palace. You won't be complaining about the trouble, waiting for God to get you out.
If you're only focused on God bringing you out of the valley, you're going to be frustrated until it changes. When you ask God to come in, you can be at rest. "Lord, I'm not going to live afraid or worried, because You're with me in this valley. At the right time, You'll get me to where I'm supposed to be." You don't have to live frustrated and not sleep at night. When you ask Him to come in, you're saying, "God, don't just change the situation, change me. Help me to grow my faith through it, to develop my character, to reach my potential." You'll experience His greatness in the valley.

Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that when I walk through dark valleys and adversities, You walk with me, and I have no reason to be afraid or worried. Thank You that You are my Good Shepherd in every situation, protecting me, guiding me, and changing me. I declare that I am resting in You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
