Psalm 1:3, TLB
They are like trees along a riverbank bearing luscious fruit each season without fail. Their leaves shall never wither, and all they do shall prosper.
Because your hope is in the Lord, the psalmist says you're not going to be bothered by the drought. While others are drying up, you're going to flourish. When they're shrinking back, you're going to move forward. When they're going under, you're going over. Why? Your hope is in the Lord. The sickness, the trouble, or the anxiety cannot stop you. You may be in a barren place, but your roots go deep in God's provision.
God is not limited by the economy, your job, or the stock market. He owns it all. Keep your hope in Him, and you're not going to just make it, you're going to keep producing luscious fruit-not shriveled up or mediocre. You're going to see abundance, overflow, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. Not after the drought, but in the drought. In the downturn, you're going to see God show out in your life. That's what it means to be planted along the riverbank. You can't explain it. It's just the goodness of God.
Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that Your plan for my life is that I am always bearing luscious fruit. Thank You that You are not limited by seasons or for the right conditions to be in place in order for You to do what You want. I believe that You will bless me even in a time of trouble. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
