Today's Scripture
But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.”
Today's Word
In today’s Scripture, Jesus was on His way to heal this man’s little girl, but before they got there, word came that the girl had died. Jesus heard the facts, but He told this man to not fear, to just trust Him. There are always going to be voices of doubt and discouragement that contradict what God told you. What people are telling you may be true, but God can override the facts. God can do what medicine cannot do. He can make streams in the desert. He can prosper you in a downturn. He can free you from an addiction that seems permanent. He can defy what the experts say. He’s God. He parts Red Seas. He brings dead things back to life. He takes shepherds and makes them kings.
Don’t let the facts talk you out of what the Most High God has promised you. It may look as though it’s too late, you could never get well, never see your family restored. God is saying to you what He said to this man “Do not fear, only believe.”
Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that no matter what happens in my life, no matter what seems delayed, You will do what You have promised. Thank You that I can get my hopes up and know that You have something bigger and better than I’ve expected. I will not be afraid. I will believe. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
