“Do you think I’m a dog?” Goliath asked. “Is that why you’ve come after me with a stick?” He cursed David in the name of the Philistine gods.
When Goliath saw how small David was, without armor or a sword, he was saying, “Is this the best you’ve got? A stick?” You may have some Goliaths taunting you, telling you what you can’t do. “You’re not strong enough to break that addiction, or beat that sickness, or accomplish your dream. You can’t win.” You have to do as David and tell Goliath, “I may look small, but I’m stronger than you think. You haven’t seen the best of me. You haven’t seen the courage, the fortitude, the greatness. What you don’t realize is that you’re looking at a giant killer.”
That problem is not going to defeat you, and that trouble is not how your story ends. You’re going to discover things in you that you hadn’t known you had. I believe even now strength is rising up, courage is rising up, dreams are coming back to life. You’re about to see God do things that you couldn’t do, turn situations around that look permanent, open doors that no person can shut.
Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I am not limited by what the enemy or people around me say or think about me. Thank You that You have qualified me to do what You have destined me to do. I will not allow others to put a limitation on what You have put in my heart. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
